Welcome to the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland!

About US

Emphasizing the importance of spaying/neutering as a solution to the growing pet overpopulation problem in the Portland Metro area, leaders from Portland’s largest animal welfare organizations and the veterinary community have come together to form the ‘Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland’.

ASAP's mission is to end the euthanasia of healthy, social, and treatable cats and dogs in Portland-area shelters.

The Spay & Save program is organized and managed by the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland (ASAP). ASAP is a coalition of the greater Portland area's leading animal welfare organizations and the veterinary community. The Spay & Save program is working to reduce the number of cats and kittens that are coming into our shelters every year – over 25,000 in 2008 alone. This vital program is funded through private donations as well as grant monies.
