The Spay & Save program is organized and managed by the Animal Shelter Alliance of Portland (ASAP). ASAP is a coalition of the greater Portland area's leading animal welfare organizations and the veterinary community. The Spay & Save program is working to reduce the number of cats and kittens that are coming into our shelters every year – over 25,000 in 2008 alone. This vital program is funded through private donations as well as grant monies.

September 11 - 13, 2009 at locations across the city
(August 20, 2009) - Find the pet of your dreams this weekend as five Portland-area animal shelters unite to find homes for over 300 dogs and cats. It’ll be tail-wags and purrs across the city since all shelters are reducing their adoption fees this weekend only: 50% off cat/kitten adoption fees and $50 off dog adoption fees. While the adoption fees are reduced, the love you’ll receive isn’t.
